What's Up Wednesday July 23, 2025 #183

Ken Tuley ·

This week on What's up Wednesday, new jackets and shirts and an update on posters and metal prints.

First a quick reminder that there is only one week left for our Christmas in July sale. If you missed the previous announcements, it's a final close out of 2024 dated items as we need room for the 2025 merchandise. Like the Event Jacket and Event T-shirt.

The 2025 event jacket is black, with attached hood. On the back a full color embroidered Painted Horizons logo. the front chest has the new ExxonMobil Balloon Fiesta logo, also embroidered full color. The black is trimmed in red accents on the pockets, zipper pulls and inside the hood. This medium weight jacket is great for most weather conditions and should be perfect for October Balloon Fiesta weather.

Now that we're more than halfway thru 2025 and closer to 2050 than 2000 it's time to release the 2026 Official Balloon Fiesta Calendar. This always popular item contains a full color picture from our Official Photographers on each month. With big date squares there's plenty of room to add your important dates to the holidays, moon phases and important historical ballooning dates already included. It may only be July, but its not too early to get a jump on your 2026 planning.

Response to last weeks release of the 2025 official poster and metal prints was huge. And some of you may have found that we are "Sold Out" of certain combinations. A few of you wrote us, asking, "How can you be sold out if you just released them? Will you be getting more? Why didn't you order more?" and other such questions. Let's take a moment and try to explain what is happening. When we create a product, whether it be clothing, posters or other items, we make a prediction as to how many we will sell. And we also guess how many will sell at each of our locations, the Gift Shop, Online, and in our three merchandise tents on the field during the event. And that's the challenge. Predicting how many will sell in the different locations. And online sales are still relatively new to us. Sometimes we don't stock enough online. We're not really "Sold Out" of stuff, we're just Sold Out Online! All that said, we attempt to move inventory around to keep every location stocked. And if the total inventory gets low early, we may have an opportunity to order more. In the case of the metal prints we are doing just that. Look for more signed metal prints online today.

Next week, the 2026 Official Balloon Fiesta Calendar. Thanks for your support of Balloon Fiesta and Balloon Fiesta Stuff.
