This week on What's Up Wednesday, the shopping's done and all that is left is to pick up the packages and prepare for the big day.
As you should know by now, our Gift Shop and Online store are now closed for 2024. We're completing our year-end inventory with all the reports and sharing them with the auditors as we wrap up 2024.
If you have an order ready for pickup, you have until Friday at 5 pm to pick it up. Orders left after that time will be treated as a donation to our non-profit status. If there is some hardship in making it to the shop, please contact us immediately so we can make other arrangements.
Before we put the final bow on 2024, we want to recognize a Balloon Fiesta Stuff volunteer. Not because he volunteers for us, but because he was also just recognized by New Mexico Magazine as a NM Hero for his other volunteer work.
Greg Hallstrom is the volunteer Executive Director of the New Mexico Ramp Project. This project builds ramps at the homes of people who are disabled and can't negotiate the stairs to get in out of their homes. In 5 years, the all-volunteer organization has built more than 400 ramps for the more than 280,000 people that need assistance. These ramps have been built across the state from Shiprock to Hobbs. During Balloon Fiesta, Greg serves as a site director for our Merchandise Team. That means he's overseeing the operations of our 4 merchandise locations and fixing any issues that may arise. You can learn more about all the NM Heros by watching this video. Greg's portion begins about 11 minutes into the video.
Thanks and Congratulations Greg, and all the NM Heros.
And to you, we say thank for all your support of Balloon Fiesta and Balloon Fiesta Stuff in 2024.
Here's wishing you and yours a peaceful and joyous holiday seasons.
