What's Up Wednesday, June 19, 2024, #125

Ken Tuley ·

This week on What's Up Wednesday, it's Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery and we have some new products that we know you're going to enjoy.

Before we get to the new products, we want to apologize for any issues you may have had the last two weeks with What's Up Wednesday emails. Our email provider Shopify had a bug in their mailer program that caused mailings to pause, duplicates to be sent and sent at the wrong time. They assure us they have found and squashed the bugs and that all is back to normal now. Thanks for your patience.

As you may know, Balloon Fiesta is a non-profit organization. As such, we like to support other non-profits whenever we can. This week, we have a few products that were made by non-profit groups and customized for Balloon Fiesta.

First up, the wooden postcard. It's just that. A beautiful Balloon Fiesta postcard made of wood. And it's ready for you to paint, or write, your message on the back, address it, add a couple of stamps and drop it in the mail. A very unique way to say "Wish you were here!".

We also have a new metal spinner with the Balloon Fiesta logo surrounded by other balloons. This looks great as it's shipped in a flat state, but open it up and hang it in the breeze to get the full spinner effect.

Both the wooden postcard and metal spinner are from AccessAbility. This non-profit’s mission is to provide opportunities for self-sufficiency for people with barriers to employment and community inclusion.

'Save the Girls Touch Screen Purses' began after the founder, Tami Lange, had two daughters’ phones bite the dust in the same week. One washed and spun, the other was lost on a hike. Lange decided it was time to stop the madness and she developed a way for women and girls alike to safely, securely and fashionably carry their phones! And now this multi-function product is customized for Balloon Fiesta and available to you.
It's an adjustable strong strap with heavy duty clips, a small clutch and a "phone card" that turns any smart phone case into a crossbody carrier. We have it in black with full color balloons, or in copper with cream color balloons. You're going to want to order one of each and match it with your outfit for the day.
Finally since we're on the topic of accessorizing, check out our latest ladies bling ball cap. In bright pink, it features rhinestone balloons across the front, and a subtle 2024 on the bill, with Balloon Fiesta Est. 1972 on the back. It's sure to help you stand out whenever you wear it.
So there you have it. New undated products from other non-profit organizations and  a ladies ball cap to protect you from the hot sun as we approach the longest day of the year at the end of this week.
Thanks for your support of Balloon Fiesta and Balloon Fiesta Stuff. We'll see you next week on the other side of the Summer Solstice.
