What's Up Wednesday, March 4, 2026 #215

Ken Tuley ·

This week on What's Up Wednesday, a new month means a new pin of the month, pin trading, Saturday sales, and order pickup. We also have some pin collecting items and a new jewelry line to tell you about.

The March pin of the month celebrates the luck of the Irish with a leprechaun fantasy balloon pin. It's the 5th in our year-long pin of the month series. We're keeping the previous months' pins in stock, so you can start collecting anytime. And don't forget that special framed shadow calendar box designed to highlight this collection.

Another way to store, display, and protect your pin collection is with our Pin Collectors bag. About 6 inches in diameter and a couple of inches deep, it's great for keeping your pins organized, especially if you're attending a pin trading session. Inside, there are inserts that allow you to mount your pins with pre-drilled holes, and felt separates to keep them from scratching each other. And did you know we have a pin lanyard/strap/belt designed to complement the bag? It hooks onto a ring or attaches through loops on the back of the bag. Or just use it as a straight lanyard for your special pins. It is also pre-drilled. Consider getting the set and/or multiple bags to sort your keepers from your traders.

And don't forget that with the Wednesday pin release, it's time for another Saturday pin trading and shopping day. Saturday, March 7, 9-12 at the Balloon Fiesta Gift Shop on Alameda is where and when it all happens. You can shop, pick up your orders, and do a little pin and story trading. The attendance is a little greater each month, so make plans to join us this Saturday.

We have a new jewelry collection to tell you about. It is an inlaid design that comes in both large and small necklaces, and two styles of earrings, stud and dangling. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, they showcase skilled craftsmanship through their dimensional inlay work, creating visual depth and sophistication. Ideal for collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate wearable art, these pieces celebrate the vibrant spirit of hot air ballooning with understated elegance. A distinctive accessory that speaks to both artistic sensibility and passion for the skies.

Finally, now that we are in the month of March, we can expect spring winds, spring cleaning, March madness, and with daylight savings time taking effect Sunday, longer evening hours. All of this means SALES! Ours starts next week. Make sure you're watching for What's Up Wednesday. Until then, thanks for your support of Balloon Fiesta and Balloon Fiesta Stuff.
