What's Up Wednesday May 31, 2023 #70

Ken Tuley ·

This week on What's Up Wednesday, the first in the list of annual collector's items, the patches!

Before we get to the patches themselves, we hope you had an opportunity to show off your new patriotic t-shirt this past weekend. If you missed it, there are still more opportunities, like Flag Day, and the 4th of July, for you to be well dressed for the occasion. We still have a good selection in stock. Pick up enough for the entire family reunion.

Now to the patches. They are all here and ready for you to purchase. There are five, 4-inch size patches, Balloon Glow, Chase Crew, Mass Ascension, Special Shape and the event patch. The event patch is also available in the 9-inch size, perfect for the back of your jacket.

The Event patch has a black border and features a View from Above inflated balloons, appropriate as that's this year's theme. The 9-inch version has a metallic silver border with the same design.

The Special Shape patch features a View From Above of a number of special shape balloons.

The Mass Ascension patch has a blue border and features 10 colorful balloons in flight.

The Balloon Glow patch has a deep purple border with balloons glowing under a starry sky.

And the Chase Crew patch has a red border with the chase crew on hand to help at landing.

Get your set now so you have time to get them sewn to your favorite Balloon Fiesta Jacket.

Time for a little insider information. This Sunday, June 4, is the 240th anniversary of the first hot air balloon demonstration flight. That flight in Annonay, France, lasted about 10 minutes with the balloon traveling about 1.2 miles. It would be another 3 months before the first living creatures flew. And next week on What's Up Wednesday, we'll introduce a new product line that celebrates those first to fly beings.

Thanks for your support of Balloon Fiesta and Balloon Fiesta Stuff.
